This is the third course of three in the general physics sequence. The PH20x sequence is a comprehensive, introductory survey course covering a broad spectrum of classical and modern physics with applications. This PH203 course introduces students to optics and electricity and magnetism.
Most importantly, the goal is for the student to acquire knowledge of some basic physics principles, make sense of these principles, and develop the skills necessary not to simply know about physics but to be able to do physics.
Laboratory and recitation sections accompany the lectures. Mathematical preparation should include college algebra and trigonometry.
