This is a two-credit seminar offered through the Honors College. It is open to all Honors students. There are no prerequisites.
Cosmology is one the the most active areas in science at this time, thanks in part to the flood of new data made possible by recent developments in technology. It seems that the universe is being torn apart by a mysterious force called dark energy. Most of the actual matter in the universe is in the form of "dark matter," which has never been detected directly. In this course we will examine the evidence leading to these remarkable conclusions. |
